can you suggest the best plug to run, ngk does not make a plug or at least call for a plug to use in my engine,, it call for a
ngk br8hs-10 , so now i am educated on the -10 meaning it is pr gapped, but how about a plug that is like the evinrude style that has the no post coming off the side in other words it fires from the center to the side , i know you can set spacers so the fire has a clear route so it fires better,,, i am going to try and get this big engine to run smooth at an idle,,, my dealer is very hard to deal with, i am looking for a rebuild kit for the carbs, and have bought 4 different screws trying to find the right one for the throttle adj,, left ahnd thread, my one in the center was snapped off, so i ran a small screw and lock washer for now but need to find the right one,, they charged me for the wrong ones so far, most little screws list a 6 bucks

my engine is the 1987 200etlh, the pictrue on yamaha parts is very hard to see,
thanks rodblot

Re: spark plug search

That is strange NGK - BR8HS-10's are available everywhere, it is the most common outboard plug .....

Re: spark plug search

use the correct plug.
find a real dealer
that motor,if mechanically sound and in good tune, will idle all day long and fish twice on sunday.
DO NOT use the surface gap plug, use the BR8 NGK plug.
if your motor idles nasty with that plug it is NOT a spark plug issue.
