hey guys, im currently changing the plugs on my 77 sea ray, it has a chevy merc 228 in it.... i took a few plugs out and they were champion rv8c-plugs.... is champion a decent name for marine use? I usually use ac's in my cars if its a chevy, but before i went and spent the money i just wanted to check..... also if ac's are better does anyone know what plug i would use? sorry for being a pain in the *** :)

Re: spark Plug ?

I appreciate the help guys! the guy I bought it from gave me a manual but its missing some pages..... I went to the auto store, they have ac r43t plugs..... is the M for marine? can I use regular auto plugs, or would I have problems? Keep in mind this is a 33 yr old boat and its very rarely driven hard.... i apologize for asking some dumb questions..... I'm new to boating, and im learning as i go :)

Re: spark Plug ?

please be patient with me, i have my manual, there is no 228 model in it, for plugs and plug gaps.... the gap for a 225 and a 233 is a .30, is that going to be the same for a chevy 228? ive ben searching online, but havent found anything yet and my internet is soo slow to open the 1.0g size online manual.... i thank you for any help given and in advance!
