Spark plugs and manual

I tried posting this in the motor section but it wouldn't let me. I just bought a boat with a 93 Johnson 90. The Model # is TJ90TLETS. It's had the VRO disconnected and I was wondering what the correct plugs would be? I see on another thread that it calls for QL77JC4 but mine aren't that. Would the disconnected VRO call for different plugs? I was also wondering where i could get some factory service manuals for this motor as I'd like to learn to do my own repairs. I tried looking up Johnson and I got some International site and I couldn't find a place to look for manuals. Thanks

Under the "Repair and Maintenance" heading you may want to log on to the Johnson and Evinrude site. Someone there may pick up your post a little quicker.

The QL77JC$s are an excellent choice for that motor. The other thing is to keep in mind that's not a VRO pump. Calling it that may lead to confusion. You might want to consider hooking it back up if you still have the oil tank.

I'll be sure to check that other place for any info. I did get the original tank and a bunch of other stuff with this boat. How hard would it be to hook it all back up again and what are the benefits of having it instead of mixing gas/oil? Thanks

It's not hard at all. Install the tank, run the line to the pump, purge it and hook it up. Plug in the electrical harness that's undone and away you go. Run 50:1 in the tank until you verify it's working.

All you alarms will now be working and you don't have to worry about how much oil to add for odd amounts of gas. Or forgetting to add oil all together.

It looks like something has been removed from the engine as well though. There is a fuel pump looking thing where the oil pump was according to the previous owner. I thought these VRO's were prone to failing? Thanks
