spark plugs question

hi guys i have a 96 merc650 2 stroke 4 cyl the spark plugs that are in it right now are the flat style. Am i able to use the style that have the prong to adjust the gap or do i have to stay with the non adjustable NGK. i dont want to put the adjustable gap plugs in and have the piston hit the spark plug thanks guys

Mercury has not built a 4 cyl 650 since the early 70s so it's hard to look it up, but what ever Mercury installed at the factory would be a good choice.

im sorry its a 1969 not a 96 i type to fast sometimes 65hp but called a merc650. i read that they dont fail as much but are theye reccomended or can i use the other type

You will get the best preformance and service life from the L76V Champion plugs.
