Re: Spark plugs wires

The Merc number for leads for your engine is 84-816608Q71, but any high quality silicone lead set will be adequate. Just be sure to get the right coil-distributor lead (automotive have a different boot on one end).

Ayuh,..... Generally speakin', automotive plug wire Kits just Won't work on a boat motor,...

The wires are too short, 'n All of 'em will have the Wrong ends on 'em....

Unless yer custom makin' 'em,... Buy the 1s that Fit...

For my previous V6 I bought a standard V8 set (for use with a HEI system. They do have the right ends), then tossed the 2 shortest leads. Still working fine after 1000 hours... :D

Bite the bullet and buy OEM Mercruiser replacements, yeah expensive, but they will fit perfectly and last a long time. Just IMHO
