spark plugs

whate is the diffence between a QL77JC4 and QL78YC. I have a 1989 Evinrude 140 hp. What is the proper plug? I have had to differnt answers from two different supplers?

The QL77JC4 is a bit "cooler" and is what is recommended by OEM chart for 1989 - gapped at 0.030". In 1994 they changed the recommended to QL78YC for the same motor. Either one will work fine.

The Y means it's an extended reach plug also.
