It looks like there is not much selection in the marine sport plug section, is there any reason why Automotive plugs are a bad idea?? Motor is a 92 4.3l with carb....Cheers!

Re: Spark Plugs???

selection? just replace with same as you take out. RV8C Champion was the original- that should cross easily to AC or NGK. Auto ones tend to rust into the head, but if you replace annually or remove them at winterization they'll probably be ok. Not sure how you'd figure out the right heat range though.

Thanks Howard, I just thought since there is a wall of plugs at most auto stores that seem way more up to date then the standard old Champions...but then I have never had a problem with them. Cheers!

Ayuh,..... Bein' a Chevy, the AC Delco automotive plug is R42T, 'n is a Steel body, like the Champs plated bases...

The AC Delco Marine plug is the MR42T,...
It's an Alloy base plug, that won't rust for Many years in freshwater, 'n quite a few in saltwater......

Btw,... Any of the new, 'n improved super spark plugs,............... Ain't........ ;)
