I was looking over the motor I am selling off my boat and there is a V in the model number.

I looked it up and on the one site i went to they dont show a V in the 50 hp offereings, but they do show them in a 40 hp and a 60 hp
the chart i have says it is a SPECIAL GEARCASE
can anyone say what is different about the gearcase to make it special?
