spectrum 1700

i have a 1989 spectrum 1700 fish/ski model..does anybody know where i can get info on this boat..their is no capacity plate on it..and i would like to find out what max hp i can put on it..thanks

Assuming this boat was made by Blue Fin, then it is probably rated at 85 hp. I had my 1988 Blue Fin Spectrum 1700 re-rated for 90 hp. All it took was a $30 check to Brunswick Marine (parent corporation of Blue Fin at the time)and a new plate arrived in the mail.
