I removed drive to do annual maintaince, After i replaced it the spedo didnt work but that was only because the cable it came loose at the drive. ( not very good design holding it in place) when i plug it it and turn in to lock it, it seems very tight. alsmost like i have to yank down/ stretch the chord to plug it in.

Since i have put it back on it worked one day and hasnt worked since....

there is also a zip tie right on cable just beofre the male end that plugs into the femal receiver on the drive, im thinking that its not suppsed to be there... So i may clip that off and see if that helps... but doubtfull...

any ides where i should start?

THanks

Check for dirt and debris in the inlet hole on the leading edge of the drive, just above the "bullet"

Get used to this issue, it's quite common on Mercruisers, and now Volvo Penta has copied it!
