Speedometer cable keeps breaking

I found a speedo/tach instrument cluster from my Mazda B2200 at the salvage yard, since putting it in I have broken 2 speedo cables. It works fine up to about 50mph then 'snap'.<br />Is there likely a problem with the speedometer itself or could there be an issue with my workmanship?

Look for sharp bends in the cable housing or pinch points.
