Speedometer quit

2000 maxxum 7.4 mpi mercruiser bravo 3 prop

speedometer quit working but had to change lower unit of drive. replace lower unit with factory part. speedometer still does not work. disconnected hose from speedometer and from lower unit and blew compressed air from panel back. no air bubbles from drive area. tested speedometer gauge by blowing and speedometer responded. any ideas?

Either the hose from the drive to the helm is plugged up or broken somewhere.

How can I clear it? I've tried compressed air and that didn't work. What else can I try? There is back pressure coming from the hose when I put the sure to it.
