Ok i got my good ole dremel out and i started grinding out all the spider cracks i have over the top part of my boat.. You could say i was doing 3mm Wide V's all along the spider cracks through the gelcoat until the epoxy. Unfortunately i painted my boat a year ago and it didn't stop the blistering problem because i didn't remove the blisters.. And i used a wrong puttty

I was thinking this time of using normal epoxy 2 part and just filling up all the grindings i did of the spider cracks.. Just like filling a mold with plaster of paris.. Does epoxy bind to gelcoat? Or will i have to apply the epoxy and then apply another putty over the top and then sand prime and paint with my polyurethane paint?

epoxy binds to gelcoat, but not the other way around. ie. you cant gelcoat your epoxy repairs, but you can repair your gelcoat with epoxy

so if i putty up all the gelcoat grindings i had to do with a 2 part epoxy putty used for boats (im in australia so west system and all that aint here) And then sand it down then do the rest with a putty just to fair it out?

Does epoxy bind to gelcoat very strongly so whne i fill the voids with epoxy and sand them down smooth then paint over with polyurethane they won't recrack and or shrink with time like my other putty's did?

Epoxy will bond the crack of dawn to the break of day and using urethane over everything should work fine for you. A light sanding over the whole boat before painting is in order.

g'luck & c/6
Hooty
