Bought a 85 sea ray 250cc, boat runs good, I did find some rot in the bilge. I will have pictures to show you, also I did find some spider cracking on the outside of the hull, bottom of the transom. I paid 3200 bucks for this one. Sold my 89 larson dc 215 and picked this one up, for the rot in the bilge I may try to inject epoxy in it. Not too sure what I think about the spider cracking though. I guess the transom is getting soft on the bottom, what you guys think

I think you need to do more exploratory work on seeing where all the rot is. On a boat that old, I’m sure you’ll find plenty.

Best to do a complete evaluation of transom and stringers before spending any beer tokens.-----Looks like a complete overhaul in your future.------I think you will be disappointed with the materials used by some boat builders,

based on the pics, the drive is coming off, the motors coming out, the transom, stringers, bulkhead and flotation boxes need to be redone

there is no "inject epoxy" fix that ever works.

this is a $3-4k hull restoration.

go to the stickies at the top of the forum. 4th sticky down. read posts 14, 15, 18, 2, 3, 4a, and 4b in their entirety.
