Spindle Lube and Bearing Buddy

I have a new trailer that has the through the spindle lubrication zerk fitting. I know this is a good thing, as you can add grease and it will shoot through the spindle and get the back bearing too. Kinda like a repack without removing the bearings. My question is, I have always run Bearing Buddies on all my trailers and I want to know if I can put them on this one. My plan was to grease the bearings using the zerk fitting and then remove the fitting (To allow the pressure to go through the fitting), install the Bearing Buddy so it will keep positive pressure in the hub. Any advice or has anyone done this? Do I even need the Bearing Buddies with this set-up? Thanks........

Ayuh,.......
I Believe that'll work Rick,....
But,......
Over Greasing it thru the spindle will cause an Over-load on the Grease Seal if you're not Careful.......

Thanks Bondo. I was hoping it would. I thought that with the spindle lube the grease just came back out the front, but I guess you could jam it in there too fast and blow the seal. Never had this set-up before...

Re: Spindle Lube and Bearing Buddy

Regardless of the type of greasing system, they do not replace the need for periodic disassembly, cleaning and repacking. Bearings can and do fail even though they are protected from moisture and have sufficient grease. Once a bearing begins to pit or craze, they fail quickly.
