Interested to see the photos at speed of the plate. I would and wouldn't be surprised if you move it. I could see that lower speed planing going up a mph or two if you raise it. Only boat I messed with that on it was a compromise. Lower hole was better in a following sea. Higher better when you could cruise or run hard.

I'll be getting a water-proof camera system today to hopefully get some images of the LU/ventilation plate area while on plane.

Lots of boats out at the local sandbar (Jetty) yesterday. I am enjoying getting the boat into skinny water (on a rising tide ), and the good amount of space at the stern.

I have a new depth transducer on order, since I never mounted the old one. I'm going with an in-hull version so I can mount it while the boat remains in use.

I did another power run yesterday using more trim (65%), but probably still not enough. I got 49 mph @5,200 RPM. I'll need a really flat day, as the prior days were a slight chop.

I take it the i dependent steering is what can be done with a joy stick? That’s pretty cool I didn’t know that was possible. It must make maneuvering a pretty slick operation.

Motors steer independently.----Go into forward / reverse as needed.----Boat moves forward / backwards or sideways.

Yes, joystick docking has been around for a while. Each engine has its own steering actuator and 'the computer' figures out steering position and engine RPM for each engie, based on joystick position.. The movement that it lets you do that conventional twin engine steering does not is the sideways (crabbing) movement. It is very helpful in getting into tight docking spaces.

My Mercruiser's had the joystick, and I did not want to loose that in the conversion. With Honda and Suzuki engines, you need to get a third-party system from Dometic (Optimus/SeaStation/Seaways). It also has skyhook and auto-pilot functions.

I installed a depth transducer and a SeaFlo dry bilge system yesterday before taking the 'gang' (18 people) out to the local sandbar. The extra buoyancy of the extension-bracket came in handy. Even with that many people, the boat does not feel overly crowded.

I can’t remember the last time I was on a newer boat.I have never seen independent steering.
I guess I’m living under a rock.
I just go out on my 20 year old homemade skiff with a 02 Johnson or on my buddys 86 Tashmoo with an old Yamaha.

The joystick is really cool. My buddies boat has a bow thruster which allows you to do some pretty unique things as well but the pod setup to me is more intuitive.

I forget, did you do "autopilot" as well?

My brother the boat mechanic and one of my best friends, also a boat mechanic, absolutely hate working on anything joystick. If I said I wanted to go joystick they would both shoot me!

Seaways is the auto-pilot function. The re-power shop that I went with seemed to be particularly good with all the techy stuff.

I’m up to 6 hours on the meters. So, almost through the break-in routine.
I got myself a remote camera, so I can get a look at the vent-plates while at speed. Just wondering if the props are too deep.
