Windy day today, but Tuesday and Wednesday look OK for some additional testing of engine trim & height. I hope to get my camera thingy adjusted better.
Reading up on the spec's, it looks like the Honda BF350 has a trim range from -4˚ to +15˚ (so 19˚ of trim). The spec for transom angle is 12˚, as most boats are. The stock CY338 OB has a transom angle of 16˚ as per the drawings I got from Cruisers Yachts. I made my bracket with a transom angle of 14˚, figuring I would not need as much stern lift as the stock version of the boat. But . . . It looks like I could have gone with a 12˚ transom.
Anyway, taking all of these numbers into account, I will bring the trim up to nearly 100% of the range to see if there is any difference, prop ventilation, etc.
If I had to guess, I'd say the engine will be coming up 2 spaces (1.5"+/-). So, I'm looking into 'vertical jack brackets', etc., because it will put the engine mount @ 2" above the top of the transom. The hole pattern on the engine mount look to be 3/4" spacing.
