was hoping you guys could give me alittle aid with my boat...

i have a 1988 bayliner/trophy (center console) it has an 85 hp force outboard
the boat runs terrific, just recently did a whole bunch of repairs and had it
out on the water for about 6 hours last sunday with no mechanical problems.
My question is the boat is free bailing and the splash well has 2 drains that
run out to the transom of the boat.... When im anchored up or just coming
off plane the splashwell fills up big time with water about 6 inches of it.. The
drain holes are actually under the water line in the boat... Do you guys have
this problem or is this normal.. As soon as I get moving the splashwell emptys
out no problem But when theres water in there im assuming the bilge is
getting water in through the grommet were the shift cables come through and
some water through the fuel access cap... Is there anything i can do to
prevent this... The bilge gets a good workout..

thanks guys
mike

Re: splashwell water

If you have enough room install oneway scuppers. It will stop the water comming in.
If you think it's letting water in around the tank fill then silicone it.
The cable area is gonna be tougher.J
