Hm, mine runs at 140. SX cobra drive. Seems to work fine, but maybe thats too low? Not trying to spread misinformation....

Could have a lower temp thermostat in it. I wouldn't concern yourself, if it's always ran that way. But CV16 shouldn't worry about his at 175. That's a normal temp for a late model, raw water cooled VP with the OEM RWC thermostat. DonS once stated so himself, in a post I saw, 'nuff said. The guy was the final word on all things VP.

The stock thermostat in my 7.4L LK is a 140 so it runs at that temp. Same temp is used in FI models even a few years later.. Very likely they changed the temperature specified over the years.

For example, a thermostat for a 5.7GL-A or 5.7GL-B are both 160? thermostats.
