Let me start from the beginning.

Last summer my boat ran great, top speed of 43 and never ever had a problem. At the end of the season, last ride, the boat would not throttle up, it would get to about 10 miles an hour than almost stall. Would start very easy and idle smooth. Found the fuel pump a little loose. Fixed that and without testing it, put the boat up for winter.

Winterized it, ran it with a hose properly installed as mentioned in the Clymer book and in this forum.

Spring time, went to start boat, could not spin engine, was very difficult for battery to spin motor at a decent pace. Replaced battery and had an idea to pull plugs to check cylinders as I knew thse engines had water leak problems.

A large amount of water came from number three. I know that if all gaskets are good, no water will get into system. Correct?? Have read conflicting views on this in this forum.

Anyway, did a compression check:
Top = 120
#2 = 145
#3 = 175

What is going on with these crazy readings. I know the top will be 10-15 lower than the rest but these numbers make no sense to me.

Any ideas??
