sportjet90 ignition problem

I have a 1994 Mercury Sportjet that only has spark on cylinders 1 & 3. No spark on the center cylinder #2. I changed coils around still no spark on #2. The resistance check on the trigger is within specs. The stator was just replaced with a new CDI stator. Still no spark on #2. Would the switchbox be the only other possibility? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: sportjet90 ignition problem

If any of the coils fire, then the stator is good. All it does is produce AC current to the CDI system. Go for the switch box or at least unplug the rev limiter to be sure its not screwing things up.

I won't be able to check it out until this weekend. Thanks for the post. Do you happen to know if the Rev limiter cuts out the ignition totally or does it cut out individual cylinders? Thanks
