Spray from WATER!

I just put a 40HP Mercury on my 14.5' Runabout boat! (Takes up to a 60HP) I get a spray when I put on full throttle, I have tried angleing the motor at different angles, but same thing everytime. Is it too far in the water!? If it is, what can I do to correct this problem!? Thanks in advance!

PUT A SPACER BETWEEN ENGINE AND TRANSOM.<br />OR GET A SHORT SHAFT ENGINE. null

It looks like a short shaft, so I can purchase a spacer!? How much are they, and is it easy to install!?
