Well for those that dont know, I purchased a '58 Fastwin for $50 and was given another fastwin, I mixed and matched parts to get 1 great motor.
I installed the better of the 2 props only to spin the hub 2 miles from the ramp, thankfully I just happened to have the other prop with me.

Beached the boat and switched the props and away we went.

How much does getting the prop fixxed cost?

So I went from a using a Fleetwin 7.5 to a Fastwin 18

Hmmm.... I wonder which is faster

Re: Spun my first prop hub

I have found that the price of props is so low now, it is hard to not simply purchase a new one. I have not re hubbed a prop in a while now. The 2 piece props are handy, with seperate hub and blades, so that if you blow a hub, you simply replace the hub, break a fin, replace the blade section.

Well the nicer of the 2 props is an OMC prop, really nice, this is the one that spun the hub.
The other prop is a Columbian, anyone know about these?
What is the stock pitch?

I just had my S.S. three blade re hubbed for $100. Much cheaper then the price of a new one. When I got it back the entire prop looked like brand new. I keep a spare aluminum with the hub insert in the boat just in case. Spend way too much time on the water to get stuck due to a prop failure!!

I'm glad I can still get my props done for $39. It by far beats the price of a new one.
