I couldn't just step away. I'm so obsessive compulsive.
I pulled the thermostats.
Again, everything is clean inside.
It's obvious the ol fellow was religious about taking it in for service. The bolts weren't corroded stuck at all. Around the hose connections were a little over done with RTV, but still...
.
I guess I put them in water and heat the water and see what temperature they open at?.
.
One of the white plastic things with the cross just fell out, the other wasn't stuck, but didn't just fall out. I don't know if that means anything that both didn't just fall out.

Since this thread has gotten long, and since it's about possible air/fuel issues, I won't include my ignition troubleshooting here.
.
Once I get done verifying all the ignition stuff, and if I don't find anything wrong with anything related to the ignition, I'm going to try checking the primer solenoid. I read in another thread where it was stuck pumping fuel.
That would relate to my plugs being so wet.

The electric primer is NOT a pump.-----It is a valve.
Yeah, sorry. If the primer solenoid valve is stuck open and the fuel pump is pumping, the fuel would be just 'pumping' on through the primer solenoid straight to the carburetors, correct?

Actually, no, it's likely not stuck open. If it was, my primer bulb wouldn't get solid.
Nevermind.
I'm trying everyone's suggestions. And checking things you guys bring up.
I'm just not finding what's causing the issue, and I'm just searching and searching the forums.
.
Bright side is I'm going through so many things and verifying their condition.
And I'm learning.

Yeah mate , been there , you will get it sorted ,the problem you then have is that you know that after all the fixing you have done there is not a better used motor on the planet and thusly will never get what its worth if you decide to sell it . I call them "life " possessions ( my 30 year old Quad ) coz it will still be going when your not and you'll need a grandie ( grandchild ) to take it on so as to get the best most out of it .....good place to be 😁😁😁😁

How about the recirculation valves?
I guess I can check that they aren't plugged, or stuck open.

Ha! I googled it.
The bleed system appears to be the Recirculation System.
I was just reading about that last night. I think it was a suggestion by Joe Reeves.

@racerone, I saw you post in another thread about a way to check if the crankcase isn't sucking in unmetered air.
I did a search on that and I guess one suggestion was to remove the carburetors and put a seal plate over the intake manifold.
Then I think you somehow plug off exhaust openings too.
Then in another thread someone said to start with using a vacuum tester before doing a pressure test. I think the argument was we're looking for unmetered air entering the crankcase.
.
Have you checked thermostats?....clip....
Done. Nice and clean inside as I posted earlier.
They maybe just start to open at somewhere around 140°, and look to be fully open somewhere around 160°. Give or take.

Moving on to the bleed system (recirculating system and valves).
Looks like I get to take the carburetors off again. 😊

Okay! I think I, (you guys got it).
I now just need to take it to the river and run it around some.
.
It sounds nice and idles down low nicely.
.
I will upload some videos later tonight and post the links to them here.
.
It may or may not be it, but I disconnected the primer solenoid. Even though I kept thinking it was a lean condition, I think (with my limited knowledge), the solenoid wasn't closing all the way or something.
Wet spark plugs and going through a lot of gas testing this thing.
