Well its that time of year again, not wabbit or duck season, ...boat parade season!!
Are there any I boaters entering the reagatta of light in st Augustine this year. I know TD has done it a few times as have I. Last year we even managed to win a trophy. Just checking to see if there are any others entering this year.:D

Jealous of you. Going to snow here for the first time today. And now you remind me of the red flannel cruises and one Christmas time cruise that I and my family have taken from Daytona to St. Augustine. You suck! ;)

Hope you have a great time!

Well if it makes you feel any better I miss my West Virginia winters. I love the snow and cold, almost as much as I love year round boating;)
I really do miss seasons.
Merry Christmas

It doesn't make me feel better, no. it just tells me that you are CRAZY! Anyone who misses a West Virginia winter (or and East Liverpool, OH one) is nuts. Just nuts.
Go boating, and maybe you'll come to your senses?! :)

Anyone who has made that ride would do it once a week. Beautiful, relaxing boat ride. I have done it many times, but now my boat is moored over in Sanford. I would love to go on the parade, but it's a 200 mile boat trip just to get to St. Augustine! At an average of 1 GPM...

It is a beautiful run. North from Lake Monroe to Jacksonville is old Florida. Live & mossy oaks, Cypress trees, and alligators. Small fish camps and manatees. It's great.

The half day run thru Jax sucks. 2 mile wide river and commercial boat traffic. Boring.

The ride South from Jax to St. Augustine isn't too bad. Not a lot to view, but certainly doable again. I have made the 250 mile trip from our berth to Daytona & back 4 times. The only bad part is the fuel bill, really. I would love to have a job moving boats back & forth for people!

Here are a few pics from the last trip.

I've been as from Daytona north to Charleston, SC. Talk about a fuel bill! (1 mpg in a 30' Chap cruiser!) But it was beautiful.

I'll say this to make sure everyone knows, I LOVE ST. AUGUSTINE, FL. Love the ride up from Daytona, love the beaches with shells for my wife, love the city's marina, love Castillo de San Marcos, and love the Lightner Museum. Very jealous of you current FL residents.
