Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

The stretch from St. Augustine to the SJR is pretty self explanatory. There shouldn't be any surprises. The only "iffy" areas are south of St. Augustine, in the Palm Valley stretch, where you have to hug the eastern shore and really favor the channel markers due to the low tides.

**EDIT**

Crap! Almost forgot:

Only 23 more days till departure!!

Can you believe we've been counting down since mid-February!!

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

I have several guide books of the East Coast and Skipper Bob's is is a good one for navigating the Waterway. I almost always have somebody knowing where I am at on a chart. Good idea you have.....No Worries!

Akuna Matata, my Friend!!!:D

WOW, I cant even come close to keeping up with this thread. I tried to read it all but by the time I was done there was another page. LOL. J/K.

I dont know if anyone is aware, but another boating club, activeboating.com, is also planning a trip to St Augustine that weekend. If we are able to go, I will probably be coming up with them, since most will be coming out of the Daytona area I think.

Like sasto said, The more the merrier!!! Well, he may not have put it exactly that way, and he did say more than just that; but I'm sure he meant that, too...;)

Well I got my room at the Marion Motor Lodge across the road from the marina, check in 6-17 PM, checkout 6-19. Can't we find a way to cut some more days off of this wait. I am ready.

Glad you're gonna be right there!!!

Just curious, and this may have been mentioned already, but I have a 12 year old daughter that we are having a tough time finding a sitter for that weekend. Are there gonna be any kids there? Is it ok if she joins us?

As nlain mentioned, I'll have my 10 y/o with us, and possible the 18 y/o and his girlfriend as well. If all these people actually do show up as promised, there stands to be a bunch of people there.

OK still trying to convince the wife. She is having a hard time getting over the 2.5 hours each way on the boat. That and my sister just sprung another one of her rugrats birthday parties on us. So that may put a damper on everything.

Well...if she's the one wearing the pants, then she gets to make the rules...

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

Just bought a Neutra-Salt system from ebay. Brand new, in the box. Box is a little scuffed. Seller has 100% positive feedback for over twelve years with 379 items. Bought the system for 179.95 with free shipping. Next best price I found was 189.95 plus 17.38 shipping. The savings will almost buy me a gallon of Neutra-Salt.:)

The pricing on this system is outrageous. It retails for about 300.00, yet I find it for up to 600.00

First of all, my wife is concerned that my daughter will get pissy being couped up in the boat that far. I dont think it is all that terrible, and my wife and I have made 2 hour trips on the Jetskis back in the 90s, so that is far worse.

As for my sister, she has 3 hellions. Non disciplined, let to run rampant and do whatever they please. Then she has this habbit of planning these birthday parties when she knows we have other plans. We dont want to go, but have the obligation to go.

Maybe I will pull the Father's Day card on them.

Sounds like the perfect reason not to be there.

Sorry, sis. I would love to be there, but we have had these plans in place since February.

Maybe I will pull the Father's Day card on them.

There is always that, too.

Hope to see you in a few weeks.

Hey mnypitboat you must be putting in a log way from St Augustine to have to run that long to get to us. You have probably said and I just don't remember right now.

I agree with what Fireman431 said all the way, and I too hope you can make it.

We are probably putting in Daytona. I have been told it is about 2.5 hours by water. The active boating club is putting in there and starting out early saturday morning, so, in the interest of not breaking down, or having help if I do, I will probably be coming with them. Then head home Sunday. Hope to see you all there.

OR another option might be to convince the wife that we need a new, bigger boat with a/c. THen we wouldnt be worrying about this long ride. LOL
