St Louis Boat Show

I spent yesterday at the St. Louis Boat Show. I was hoping to look at the Azure 278 bow rider and the Searay 240 Sundeck. Somewhat similar boats, but somewhat different. The Azure dealer did not bring a single Azure boat. They wouldnt tell me why. One salesman mentioned they wanted to show off other lines and the another wasn't sure if they would continue to carry the line. Anyone have any info on how solid Azure boats is financially. In this economy is one manufacture more solid than another?? Whos knows for sure??

they are all in trouble, searay is owned by Brunswick which has closed and combined many plants. but i think brunswick has the ability to stay in business, and searay is the top of the line boat.

The boating sales business is not good. The dealers are not willing to be a "loss leader"
and drop prices to a selling level to make things move.

I went to a different show last week, and a couple vendors had more salesmen than they
had people looking at boats. First time that I did not see even a single "sold" on a sign.

I think the dealers would like a buying recovery to take place, but they don't want to do
what it takes to make it happen. It's going to take more price drops.
