How do i make a 1232 flatbottom jon boat more stable? also i cant decide on a what motor size to get im between getting 4 hp 5hp or 6hp. which should i get? and why?

Keep as much weight in the front as possible. battery longer hose for tank. the smaller motors will weigh less and be more stable. Id go no higher than 5 hp for that small of a boat .

thx. thats what i was thinking im not looking for speed anyway. lol just looking to get out on the water and hae a good time.

your right lol what are some things i can do to make this boat the best i can do? kind of make it better. only thing i have for it is a boat seat and a brand new paint job i did my self. lol.

Center to 3/4 front is a good spot for weight,the front will stay lose and up.build a box or bungee down so battery-cooler etc. won't slid. I'd try for mid to upper on the hp.

To maintain as much stabiity as you can, keep the weight low & toward the middle of the boat, and if you you have a remote 6gal. tank for the outboard orient it long ways fore & aft to minimize the free surface effect. I see that Lund lists the max. hp for their 1232 model as 3 (we did used to use 5hp on a similar boat).
