aluminum is a relatively soft metal, so upon<br />impact the blade will bend or break absorbing<br />most of the impact.<br />stainless is the opposite, it will not absorb<br />impact, meaning the drive shaft and lower unit<br />has to.<br /><br />i hit a rock with a stainless prop and it did<br />little damage to the prop, but i blame that<br />on a drive shaft,crank problem that developed<br />soon after.<br /><br />cheers !
