The "stainless" staples I bought at Lowe's were monel. The box expressly states "For Marine Use". I believe they were an Arrow brand product. The local HD did not carry them and not all Lowe's stores have them.

Thanks I am redoing bunk boards now our lowes did not carry will check HD......

Two other options include searching on line or ask a local surgeon/doc where they get their staples from. My wife just came home from the hospital with about 15 staples holding her together I have no idea what grade SS they are but I'm guessing it isn't cheap (surgical steel?)

I just redid my bunk boards and I used cheap steel staples and LOTS of carpet glue.... when the staples rust (obviously different story from seats) the glue will take over

I added bunks to my trailer this summer and used regular steel staples to. I figured just as you have " the glue would take over" and so far so far so good. However, when I do the upolstry I don't want the staples to rust out and leave the nasty rust stain on the white gel coat.

I checked our local HD and they do not carry SS or Monel. Went down the street to Menards and they carry both. So after the first ove the year when all the running around has settled down I intend to get to work on the interior of the Euroline 195.
