stainless water plate stuck to the gasket ..

I need to disassemble my lower unit on my 1989 Force 125hp. The the water pump plate seems to be stuck... I don't want to risk breaking the plate - any suggestions to remove the plate??

Yes, prying it off gave me no problem. When you buy the major repair kit, the plate and gasket comes with the kit.

Just be careful not to damage the mating surfaces. Rubber mallets are helpful used in moderation.
