Stalling when

Merc 470 stalls when i go into reverse. Wondering if any write ups on cleaning and setting carb . Are available or anyhelp.
Seems to be a 2bbl carb no sure the make

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... That's a classic symptom of a failin' lower shift cable,....

Extra resistance of a failin' cable causes the shift switch to hang up, stallin' the motor when shiftin', reverse bein' the 1st sign, eventually it'll do it in forward too,....
