Starboard stairs?

So during our restoration my dumb***** broke one of our stairs in half. Thinking about how to rebuild the stairs and was pondering the idea of using starboard. Has anyone used this for stairs? Would 1/2" suffice? The price diff from 1/2 to 3/4 is almost criminal.

HEHE I got that email also the main reason for this thread. I just want to know if anyone has actually used it for stairs. I know it says you can, just wanted some first hand experiences.

On the side note, kinda stupid they sent that email AFTER I put in a 170 dorra order and coulda had the starboard on the same order. Oh well
