My cousin has 2 Starcraft American's 15ft, The one he uses is a 1978 and the other one he has is supposed to be a 1974, the differences in the 2 are the following the 1978 has a walk thru windshield and it has holes on the rear for some metal emblems where the 1978 has vinyl Decals..

Was the windshield an option ?? or is this boat a different year then a 1974??

Re: Starcraft American Year ??

I know this is reviving an old thread, but maybe you still wanted to know. So...

The 1973 & 1974 Americans were the same. I also believe that 1973 was the year Starcraft switched to vinyl "S STARCRAFT" decals in place of cast "STARCRAFT" namplates.
It appears that the walk-through windsheild was added for 1975. There was a colour change and the stripes did too, becoming more curvey. They also dropped the red, white & blue metal emblems at that time. By 1980 they weren't calling them American 15, they were called V150.

Attached are 1974, 1975 and 1976 American 15 pictures from the brochures.
