Starcraft chat room

I was just thinking that we need some kind of chat room type of application for us Starcraft guys. There are now a number of us total addicts (me, Rick, Andy, Kev, probably starting to ruin Scott). I'm surprised the forum software doesn't have some kind of capability in this area. It now has those icons that show if a user is online but it's kinda like what's the point? I know I'm having trouble going to bed because I know Rick, Andy and Scott are on and I know they'll be new posts coming up soon for me to comment on :)

Andy, Bob and I are on Facebook which has chat but I think it's just one-on-one. Is there any kind of chat room type web site you can just set up a "room" on and invite people or something like that? Something we addicts could just pop in on from time to time to see who's around?

Re: Starcraft chat room

EZ I actually set up an MSN group a long while back for my welding group which gave us the ability to chat with each other with several members at a time . That one never really took off . I got the idea from my online truck club . We used to have regular sunday night chats every sunday night . We set a time and people just showed up it wasnt unusual to have 30 + members chatting in there some sundays :D. I could do the same for us if ya like lets see what the others have to say and I will make it happen :D. The kewl one was back before Yahoo went bad we actually had voice and you could actually chat not just type :D.

Rick if you have a way to do it than by all means set it up. I didn't have any ideas on how to do it though I would have happily researched it if no one else had a plan.

I would like to ask anyone if a 85hp evinrude would be big enough for a 1970 18ft starchief cabin cruiser.

Re: Starcraft chat room

Hi twobelow and welcome to iboats!

A great place to ask that question would be here in the general Starcraft section...

Starcraft Boats

This chat thread here is a old one.

But the quick answer is it depends on what you'd like to do with it. Go fast? Nope. Get from A to B? Yup.

:welcome: two, I'm just a lowly :canada: ian, but your talking to the right guy there Jason!! The Starcraft section here on Iboats probably has more info on building these boats right than StarCraft has. And actually if we had a StarCraft chat that worked well I think it would be real busy.

100% true, just like the VW bus junkies know more about em these days than VW ever did. not least that Starcraft was building em to a schedule and a price standard, and we're more worried about building it to LAST and make people's retinas salivate

Re: Starcraft chat room

Given that this Starcraft chatroom idea was hatched 4yrs ago, I suspect if it had traction it'd be active already.

As B2 notes, it already exists, basically, here @iboats in the SC forum.

Actually, I'm really surprised EZ didn't get notified that his inactive thread had been dredged up
