Welcome to our club.
Not to sure if the 74's had that logo.
Late 60's for sure but others may know better.

I hadn't even been considering the logo to help ID the year. If I had to guess, the motor was easily ID'd as a 74, and that's what went on the paperwork. Same ID'd for w/ my FireFlite, it's clearly a 1960, but was registered as a 1957, which matches the motor's year.

For what its worth, it looks EXACTLY like my '65 Jet, even down to the cleat placement! Also, that windshield was last on Jet's in 1965, starting in '66 it appears they went to one with a supporting aluminum arm or bracket that supports it on the sides instead of the clean wrap around look of yours and mine. The engine idea is probably right, on my boat the owners registered it as not having a HIN cause they just did not see the plate!!

Yeah, I heard the Starmada once cut a 'glasser just to see him bleed! And of course for a decent 4.3L motor & outdrive:D

Shoot, I'd cut one of those glass punks for a friggin' Chrysler :p

Nothing there is a '74. That's a mid 60's boat and a mid to late 60's motor.

All the better, don't want the FireFlite feeling too much like last millennium's beauty queen:D

I don't have high hopes for the motor. But we'll see in a week!

Looks great & looks like a Jet. My 15' Jet Star actually measures 14'6" stern to bow at the center. At any rate, looks like a great project. Hope the cap. plate is still there. Mine was just a self-sticking foil thing, so beat up it was next to impossible to read.

I went through some of the 60's SC brochures, and it looks to me like it's a 1968 15' Jet w/ Cream & Red factory paint. It looks exactly like the Jet on the 1968 Jet - Falcon brochure

Colors look right JB. The windshield is different but they get changed out a lot. So 68 sounds good.

Welcome to the tinny ranks jb, I can't say much for the hull but the motor is older than a 1974. The 68 Jet Falcon in your brochure looks like it has the same motor on it. I looked at the cover for a 68, 30 hp and it looks about right.

http://www.**********/parts/search/...C/MOTOR COVER GROUP ELECTRIC SHIFT/parts.html

It's kinda funny but we just about settled on a creamy white and red paint scheme for my SN today.

As someone who lives in both the pontoon and v-hull worlds let me assure you that you can enjoy a variety of boats. :D

Re: 1974 Starcraft rehab, cleanup & it in the water Memorial Day 2012, hopefully

I talked to the brother of the owner today. Not a 1974, but that was how the PO registered it. No HIN on splashwell/transom trim & no USCG capacity plate (residue from mylar/foil sticker is evident)......Mid 60's electric shift Johnson, that RUNS & shifts as it's supposed to. The windshield is not original, and cream & red are re-paint. But that all doesn't matter if the floor (replaced by PO, not the seller) isn't toast, and I'm still in cheap if it is, 'newer' seats & <2yr deep cycle trolling motor & <2yr starting battery. Good 6gal gas can & fuel line.

All good for now.
