Have finished demo on my 1988 Starcraft Medalist 1601. Now have to replace the transom. Problem is that the transom goes to just below the rub rail rivets. When I fiberglass in the transom it will cover these plus I have to grind around this area and I don't want to grind off all the rivets. The question is can I cover this area with thickened epoxy to smooth it out prior to fiberglassing the transom. Please don't tell me I should replace all the rivets when I finish.
