The boat came with 2 outboard jhonsons a 20hp and a 40hp whick i believe are from the 60s i still have tto id them and get a repair manual since im new to outboard engines as well. this should be a quick project im hoting to get it done in about a week. going shopping at princess auto and home depot today!

Welcome, looks like we have the same boat. About 4 or 5 of us have Jets or Jet Stars. Have you found the thread with the brochures? Looking forward to seeing pics.

well its been aweek now already the nice weather got me sidetracked from the boat and i was trying to finish up a 3 year in the making chopper project and working on the paint job for that, well heres a pic of whatthe boat looked like when i got it, in the last few days i ripped out the rotten floor and watterlogged styrofoam and today i stripped all controlls and wiring, splashwell and transom, the transom was rotted pretty bad i plan to start working on the new transom tomorrow. can i use regular wood glue to lambinate 2 sheets of plywood together or should i use something else? i read someone else used gorrilla glue but i know that stuff expands allot so it might give me problems. reading through posts i couldnt fing what others are using to glue the 2 sheets of ply together

I used Gorilla Glue on mine, I just screwed the 2 pieces together while the glue cured and the took the screws out when I was ready to glass the assembly. Seems to have come out just fine!!:D:D:D

I used PL Premium on my last one. On my current project, I just laminated the two pieces together with the same epoxy resin I'm sealing them with.

well i managed to locate some resin and i already made my new transom. i cleaned up the aluminum at the back where the transom goes it was pitted a fair bit a couple where pitted right through so i filled any pitting and screw holes with jb weld and tomorrow if its not raining il install the nwew transom, hopfully my measurements where correct and il pick up some plywood to start the floor which im still undecited how i will lay it down since the floor is about 5" wider than a sheet of ply

Thanks, there's nothing left in mine that was there when I bought it except the motor, the controls and the steering wheel. the dash and all other vertical surfaces were bent out of .063 aluminum sheet stock. although it would have been nice to restore to original condition it wasn't really functional for fishing that way. The beauty of it is it's your boat you can do it any way you want. Have fun with it.
