Andy take a look at the last few pages on Northbeaches thread . He raced to the end the last week before initial splashdown . You will make it I have faith . Thats a gret price on the light kit I may have to pop over to northerns site as I plan to replace the lights on my trailer while I am at it .

Ok This one is for Kev he mentioned remembering seeing a picture of a young lady on the Bow of a Jupiter in one of the Brochures . I managed to find it in the 65 Brochure . I will add here that that period of time was the Twiggy phase in time where women weighed in at 90 pounds soaking wet :D. I am still not dragging my 190+ pounds out on my Bow :D.

Thats an old Victorian era waterbike...To show how how hip & cool Starcrafts are..Notice the hot bathing dress the Victorian chick is wearing..

And how free and hip the 60's chick is on the Starcraft!

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PIC UPDATE 7-21-09

Well, dinner break. got the trailer lights on and working:

oh by the way, the instructions clearly show one of two things... either their quality control is HORRIBLE, or the chinese factory they were made in has a really bad translator:

and i got my controls hooked up... and discovered this:

And after i eat im fixin to go drill my motor mount holes and get that bad boy bolted on.

oh and i put the transducer back on.

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PIC UPDATE 7-21-09

well, motor bolts are in. plus for some misc hardware on. i think my punchlist before splash looks like this:

splashwell drain tubes

bilge pump

dash vinyl

electrical panel hooked up (wiring is all set, just have to plug in)

battery strapped down

gas tank strapped down

seats installed

cleats installed

screw in middle of side panels

registration

misc safety gear (sold ropes/paddle etc with other boat)

im going to have to wait till friday for registration and buying my safety gear, but everything else should be done before then.

I may actually wait till sunday to splash her... my wife wants to have a yard sale on saturday... so that will actually give me one more day to get any last minute stuff done.

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PIC UPDATE 6-29-09 *FIBERGLASS QUESTION POST 58*

UPDATE:

I got the starcraft emblems off and want to strip the paint off them. is there something that I can just soak them in that will dissolve the paint but not hurt the plastic?

Try getting some Krud Kutter. It's available at most ACE, Wal-Mart, and the big box stores like HD and Lowes. Really good all purpose stuff. I use it around the house, in my pressure washer to wash the deck, boat, fence, and the wife uses it to mix up for household cleaner. It's the only thing I've found that will remove "bumper sticker" glue and dried latex paint from stuff and it's not petroleum based. I wouldn't use any chemical "stripper" type stuff on the plastic emblems, especially due to their age. Try soaking them in a shallow pan with the Krud Kutter full strength for a while. If it doesn't get the paint off, then you're only out about 12 bucks for a gallon you can use to wash your beautfully restored boat with. But I'm betting it will.

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PAINTED!!! PIC UPDATE 7-12-09

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PAINTED!!! PIC UPDATE 7-12-09

well, i had to dj a wedding yesterday so i didnt get anything done... figures too because we actually had nice weather.

so let me tell you about this wedding i did... first of all there were a grand total of 25-30 teeth total (not including me). someone was actually wearing crocs... towards the end of the night there was a guy on the dance floor with a bottle of vodka in one hand and red bull in the other... who needs a glass to mix a drink. swig from one then the other! and the icing on the cake was at one point i played gretchen wilson "redneck woman" and the bride (who had a beer (can) in one hand and cigarette in the other) came running from outside screaming "TURN IT UP THIS IS MY SONG!!!"

Oh, and some guy asked me if i wanted to go smoke weed out back with him (i declined)...

it was interesting. but the good news is that i played for 3 extra hours and got a $50 tip, so i made 200 bucks more than i was expecting. i may pick up some durabak and possibly a tach while im in burlington today...

That reminded me of my wife's family and her sister's wedding......I get all choked up just reading it......except at that wedding the bride wore a maternity wedding dress and had a bottle of Jack Daniels and a cigarette in her hands...and instead of removing and tossing the garter, they pried off her house arrest ankle bracelet......honeymoon was spent noodling for catfish in the river

Andy I got to thinkin about your emblems and getting the paint off and then it hit me Der der der . I play with Plastic car models as one of my other much older hobbies and we use brake fluid and or oven cleaner to remove chrome plating and old paint off of them without hurting the plastic :D.
