Andy if she is a Jupiter and she looks just like mine then she is 16' The DMV are not the brightest folks in the world :D . Good to hear you got her registered thts the impoertant one :D. Looking forward to some video tomorrow :D.

Rick

i plan to have video of the launch and "splash" itself, and some of cruising. im hoping the launch goes smoothly, because the only boat ive ever launched was my other one so i dont know how different this is going to be. my mfg had full bunks, so i would disconnect the strap just before i started backing down the ramp while my son would have the ropes and as soon as it was in i would pull out and he would tie up. im not sure if i can undo the strap that early because this has roller bunks...

but im going to take video of the whole thing, weather it goes right or not.

the mfg was actually pretty easy to launch... i liked to launch her deep till she completly floated, then my son would pull her back a little while i pulled out and then pull her forward and tie up. retrieving was another story... put the trailer in shallow so the boat would be centered on the bunks, then winch almost the rest of the way, pull out and then finish winching...

Andy with rollers wait to unhook her till you get her in the water and you will be fine . Thats what the parking brake on your truck is for so you can park it at the bottom of the ramp to launch the boat :D. You will be fine with the launch just take your time .

the only other stuff i plan on doing this year is bracing under the bow and something for the dash tray.

oh and in the pic you see the wires for the fish finder, i hooked it up after i snapped that pic.

I still have some stuff to do over time before next summer:

polish all the aluminum

paint and finish inside the bow

doors or bench seat @ the splashwell

trailer

paint motor (or get bigger one and paint it)

video to come as soon as it uploads...

DAMN IM A HAPPY MAN!!!!!

we hit 25 mph with me (230) my brother in law (215) and my son (50) with 6 gal of fuel.

i think if i go to a 17 pitch prop i can hit 30.

every thing went great!!! the only minor issue was that the motor kind of runs rough at low low speed... other than that it was great! she handled great even though it was a little choppy.

video to come...

Awesome Job Andy the videos were great . I will say before you go dropping money on props play with the trim some . My Merc has a pin I can adjust the trim with by moving it and raising or lowering the motor . Your motor looks like its almost flat down on the transom trimming it out some should raise your speed . Bob seems to think mine should hit 40-45 with the 80HP Merc hangin off the back of it so with that 50 I would think 30=35 is possible . I wonder what 40=45 is gonna feel like 25 looks pretty danged quick to me :D.

Andy my Merc is on the third notch and it is original to the boat so that may help :D. Seems to me your motor came off a glass boat and the transom may not have been as steep as it is on our Jupiters :D.
