Starcraft serial number

I am trying to find out where I can find the serial number on my 16" starcraft boat. I can't register it if I can find it can anyone help?

Welcome aboard.

If it's 1972 or later, the HIN is on the upper starboard transom. A riveted plate if it's aluminum or embedded in the gelcoat if it's fiberglass.

Earlier than 1972, on the starboard inside transom or a data plate, usually by the helm.

Thanks for the reply! There is nothing riveted anywhere so I'm getting worried I have a boat that I can't even use.

What Starcraft do you have. I'm assuming an aluminum model.

I had one from the 50's, that just had a 5 or 6 digit number stamped into the bottom of the hull by the transom.

What state you are in will determine if you have 1, 2, or 46 hoops to jump through.

If it was built before '72 it might not have a serial number, many boats didn't, in that case the majority of the states have provisions in the law to assign you a serial number that has to be affixed to the hull. What state are you located in?

Does Ontario allow you to put a serial number on it and register as a homemade or self made boat? I know that in my state I can do that

I can register as a homemade boat but I don't know what to do now about a capacity plate for.the boat

What model of Starcraft, we can track that information down with very little problem. Here is an original capacity plate from my 73 16 foot starcraft.
