Might miss a splash or 2, esp from the southern & western Starmadians...... But the Canadian delegation is already talking smack about making it into a Canadian Dynasty & keeping the SOTY for themselves for the foreseeable future.

Many are out of touch thru the end of the xmas holidays & new years. And the chaos of returning to work right after the start of the new year. Might miss some votes again.......

How's:
nominations start 12/1
run thru 1/5 (a Sunday for 2013)
pole starts late afternoon/evening 1/5 & runs thru 1/19 (a Sunday 14 days later).......

Gives a few an extra week (that may be vacation w/ some available boat building/finishing time) thru the holidays to get them wet, a few days to get them nominated after the holidays end, many will already know about possible late additions, and most of the nominees will be finished already. Then we've got 2wks to vote. The poll closes, the winner is announced & the current SOTY holder gets until 2/1 to have it on to the new winner/caretaker.

That sounds good JB. I mainly want to put this out there so all the guys who shut down in the winter can at least know when to come back and vote. I think a lot of the regulars here didn't vote because they didn't know.

I like the jb plan. I missed voting because of unusual circumstances, but I think this tentative schedule covers a lot of angles. If it gets on a regular schedule like this, folks will get used to it and know when to look for it too. Good thinkin'!

I wonder how Jas PM'd everybody @ the powered by iboats? 1 by 1. Until just now it hadn't occured to me how big a deal that was... Then to follow up w/ an email or 2...

Anyway, if a bulk PM of some sort, that might be a way to up the voting. I suspect there will be plenty of nominees, but that # may go up too.........

As far as 2013 timing....I think the earlier voting the better...once my boat goes to hibernation my activity on the site goes down....I actually think a Sept-Sept year might be the way to go....but I will go with the flow..
