Hey Bob,

Nice job you've done so far!

What kind of carpet are you using and where did you get it? Is that the marine carpet from home depot, or just outdoor carpet from home depot?

I need to get some carpet for my boat, but I want open pile carpet that hooks won't get caught in. Is that open pile you've got?

Thanks in advance,

-Ryan

Cheap HD indoor outdoor...... very short stuff...... I figure it should last long enough until I get bored.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Today is a trailer day. I have to wire up my lights, install my new shocks (which are due here today), build 2 more bunks and build my side bunk guides. I hope I at least put a dent in it....depends on the weather too.

I was pleasantly surprised on how easy the old shocks came off.... if the new shocks do not come with hardware I will probably need to buy one shock bolt. The old shocks are not dead but they certainly are worn.

UPDATE WOO HOO got my shocks and the old one compared to the new ones are trash..... now when I shake the boat trailer I get some resistance.

Got my lounge seat and the driver's seat......ummm changes...... I am going to mount the driver's seat on a box (aluminum ;)) and use the pedestals I have for fishing..... got the wire run for the lights ...just not connected.... need to pick up some shrink wrap tubing first....... off to the store to lighten the wallet AGAIN!!

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Lights are now working....... shocks are in spent most of my time upside down!!

Dam Hosclaw trailer needed an additional ground wire since it is a tilt trailer...... what a PITA.

Hey the seats are okay and the price was right ;) Pic's coming this weekend.

Pictures of the manufactured bow piece.......

My new shocks......

and I got my outboard mounted...... still waiting on a stripe decal so I do not want to put the engine cover out in the weather until it is done.

Now I have figured out I need new control cables ...... dam it is always something!

Lookin' good! Now I know I'm going to win last place for finishing. I like your metal seat mounting box under the skipper's chair, looks sharp. Nice bow cap too. I worked on getting mine off last night and decided not to press it, it's really on there & I don't want to break it.

I like your color scheme too, didn't you have misgivings about the yellow?

Nice work.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Grrrrrrr gotta VENT! I guess I will be ordering new control cables since if I attach the ones I have they will not permit me to turn the engine both ways :(

The yellow was just to be different and be seen. If I did not like it..... I would have called it an additional primer ;)

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Nice! Like the seating layout, still leaves plenty of room for playing those big'un's who like to run. Cool bow cap, nice work! Sorry if I missed it, but does that captains box have access for storage? & I feel your pain on the cables, my throttle cable is about 3 ft too short to hide behind the side panel. Aw well, we wouldn't go through all of this if we didn't know the end results...sweet water time is right around the corner.

Bob...that bow cap is one of the nicest pieces of work I've seen on a tinny:D

Good job. That helm seat box is also very well done and you are giving me some good ideas.

Is all that diamond plate aluminum(need I even ask;))?

Can't wait to see the "well-endowed" 85hp all dressed up, great work you are doing.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Yes, the seat base is all diamond plate aluminum.

The only "steel" used on the boat are the stainless steel plates for the engine mounts which are 1/8". I have NOT sealed up my engine bolts until I am sure that is the position I want to run it.

Today, I hope to string the steering cable and start picking up on the electrical items..... tach, lights, bilge, horn and some investigating on my trim relay...... have to figure out my battery box situation too.

Yes the engine has "needs"..... water impellar, new plugs, lower unit and the engine cover is not complete pending a stripe decal and I should throw a coat of paint on the outboard too.

I have to make myself a punch list ;)
