After having this new to me boat with this motor on it for a few months now, I'm finding that maybe I'm not starting it properly after it sits for a few days or so. Seems hard to get going but when it fires up, it runs great and starts up real quick when trying to restart it after as much as an hour or so. After sitting for days, it smokes blue for a bit. I noticed that you can push the key in when starting and assume thats the choke. Someone mind explaining the proper procedure in firing this engine up?

Thanks!

You need an owner's manual.
1. lift fast idle lever about 1/2 way - lower if idle exceeds 2000 rpm after starting
2. press key inward
3. start holding key pressed inward
4. bump key inward until idle is consistent
5. allow to run several minutes
6. get on your way

Thanks! Didn't realize about lifting the idle lever before starting and bumping the key until idle is consistent.

Pump your Primer Bulb until hard before the above starting procedure.
