I have a 1990 Force 150...I replaced a bad starter at the begining of last season.....only had the boat out on one trip (two weeks). Puller her up to run it and it wont turn over. Pulled the plugs.....motor will turn slowly. tested the lead to the starter.....off of starter i get 14v...on starter I get 6. Is my starter bad already???? Mind you it was a cheap ebay starter but really?? All leads are clean and corrosion free.....took apart the starter and everything "looks" ok.

Any ideas?

!st spray WD-40 in each cylinder and see if that helps. Then do a compression test. And if that's ok it's Sounds like the battery might have a bad cell.Take it to any auto parts store and they can test it.If it tests good then the solenoid might be shorting.J

Sounds you have a bad solenoid. 14V at starter in unload condition and 6V is in load. Check voltage before startersolenoid and then after. If it drops after the solenoid it is bad. I think you can rebuild the solenoid I have done that on many Chrysler solenoids. The housening are rivet together. Drill at the rivets and pull the solenoid apart. Sand the surfase and check the "plung" and the spring that it slides smooth.
