Just for stuff and giggles, I checked the exploded diagrams before my last post. there is a rear bracket shown on all iterations of the 3.0 up to present on "another" website that has the exploded diagrams on it for easy ordering. Couple of different styles, but all show a rear brace/bracket
Is there a PMGR option for the 3.0? It's significantly smaller and would use a different bracket

couldnt really tell from the parts site, the starters shown still have a Delco style nosecone on them (of course....) but do look like a smaller diameter body. there are about 3 different rear mount brackets available between the years. all mount to the body stud, and to the block it appears. There is no reference to either being PMGR or the old school Delcos either, just a myriad of part numbers from Mercruiser and their aftermarket "equivalents"

2Xs with InvaderScott on the starter brackets. I definitely remember seeing 3 different styles. How about posting a picture of the starter and the side of your block.
