do you think there is an issue with the vent?

you either have a plugged vent or the seat in the carb is leaking. But i would guess it would have to sit a while in order to hydro lock it. When you fill with gas can you see the fumes comeing out the vent or is it difficult to get the tank full because its trying to vent out the fill.if so plugged vent you would be suprised what spiders can do in a vent.

well i filled up in fall when cool, now warm, and expanding, th fuel is running out of vent

hot damn, i got her running tonight. so everything i did was, pulled plugs, shut off fuel, pulled carb, rebuilt carb, put plugs back in, changed oil, checked vent line, put carb back on, turned fuel on fired up in about 3 seconds, ran for about 15min, shut off, and turned the fuel off.
