Starter Kit?

I was given a 1988 Evinrude 25hp and could use it if it had electric starter on it . I have a 15 hp about the same year with a starter. Could I swap the starter from one to the other. The 15hp has the start button on the motor. I could put a key switch on if it would make it less work. How much wireing is there involved.

I have real serious doubts that they are compatable. So serious that I haven't bothered to look it up.

Well it was given to me by my Aunt after my Uncle died. He never used it much because it did'nt have a starter.
What else is there except a starter, solinoid, switch and battery. A few cables and some primary wire.

i went here http://www.evinrude.com/en-US/Accessories/Literature/ they don't use the same starter motor, bypass covers, brackets. so Frank was right. neutral safety switch.

same motor yes, find a dead one, for a donor.
