starter not always engaging

1986 110 evinrude the starter sometimes engage and other times it doesnt any ideas?

Idea #1
low battery voltage due to using a deep cycle battery for starting rather than a good\fresh 12v starting battery.

i fully charged the battery it is a deep cycle though

you need a 750 CCA, or more starting battery, you have to have clean TIGHT terminal connections at battery solenoid, and ground cable at engine. being a 1986, it may be due new battery cables. check for any nicks, cuts, swollen places in the cables. they have a tendency to corride from the inside out.

it was a bad cable working good now thanks everbody
