I tried to start this boat (just bought it) and the starter barely turns the motor over. I have a full charge on the battery, have cleaned the terminals and posts and even tried jump starting. The motor barely turns over and after 2-3 cranks it just clicks. I wait a few and it does the same thing. Any ideas where to start?

My guess would be to start with a check of the starter it may be draging and need a rebuild. Good luck and keep us posted there will be some experts come along here and give you some good advise. You might want to give some perticulars on the motor such as when did it last run and how had it been stored.

Thanks for the reply. The boat was last running about a month ago per the previous owner. He said it was "running a little hot and rough". The # 2 spark plug wire was disconnected from the coil. I'm going to use the checklist in the "boat wont start" topic in the FAQ. Will let yall know how it goes.

Jamie
